Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Proxya proxies — from setup to billing.

General

What is a proxy server?

A proxy server acts as an intermediary between your device and the internet. When you use a proxy, your requests are routed through the proxy's IP address, hiding your real IP from websites you visit.

What types of proxies does Proxya offer?

Proxya offers Residential proxies (real home IPs), ISP proxies (ISP-assigned static IPs), Datacenter proxies (high-speed server IPs), and Mobile proxies (coming soon).

What is the difference between residential and datacenter proxies?

Residential proxies use real device IPs assigned by ISPs — they are harder to detect and block. Datacenter proxies are hosted on cloud servers — they are faster and cheaper but more easily detected by anti-bot systems.

Can I test Proxya before purchasing?

Yes. Contact our support team for a free trial. We also offer small starter packages so you can evaluate quality before committing to a larger plan.

Are Proxya proxies shared or dedicated?

Residential and mobile proxies are used from a shared pool (each IP from a different real device). ISP and datacenter proxies can be purchased as dedicated (private) IPs used only by you.

Proxy Types

What are rotating proxies?

Rotating proxies automatically assign a new IP address on each connection or at a configurable interval. They are ideal for web scraping and any task requiring high request volumes without IP bans.

What are sticky sessions?

Sticky sessions keep the same IP address for a configurable duration (e.g., 10 minutes to 24 hours). Useful for tasks requiring persistent sessions like logging in or multi-step workflows.

What is the difference between ISP and residential proxies?

ISP proxies are static IPs assigned by real ISPs but hosted in data centers — offering residential-level trust with datacenter speed and unlimited bandwidth. Residential proxies come from real home devices — more diverse but bandwidth-based pricing.

Do you offer SOCKS5 proxies?

Yes. All Proxya proxy types support SOCKS5 protocol in addition to HTTP and HTTPS.

What are mobile proxies?

Mobile proxies use IP addresses from 4G/5G mobile carrier networks. They are the hardest proxy type to detect and block. Proxya mobile proxies are coming soon.

Setup & Technical

How do I set up a proxy in my browser?

Go to your browser or OS network settings, enter the proxy hostname, port, and authentication credentials from your Proxya dashboard. Most users connect via HTTP or SOCKS5.

What authentication methods do you support?

Proxya supports username/password authentication and IP whitelisting (for static IPs). Both are available in your dashboard.

What is the proxy endpoint format?

Standard format: hostname:port:username:password or hostname:port (for whitelisted IPs). Example: gate.proxya.co:8080:user:pass

How do I rotate IPs automatically?

Use our backconnect rotating endpoint. A new IP is assigned from our pool on each connection. Simply set the endpoint in your tool and rotation happens automatically.

Do your proxies support IPv6?

We primarily offer IPv4 proxies. IPv6 support is available on select SOCKS5 endpoints — contact support for details.

What speed and bandwidth can I expect?

ISP and datacenter proxies offer 10Gbps network speeds. Residential proxies depend on the real device connection, typically 10–100 Mbps. Latency varies by location, typically 20–200ms.

Pricing & Billing

How is pricing calculated for residential proxies?

Residential proxies are billed by bandwidth consumed (GB). You pay for the data transferred, not for time or connections.

How is pricing calculated for ISP/datacenter proxies?

ISP and datacenter proxies are billed per IP per month. You get unlimited traffic on a fixed monthly cost per proxy.

Do unused GB or proxies roll over?

Residential bandwidth does not roll over between billing periods. ISP/datacenter proxy subscriptions renew monthly from your purchase date.

What payment methods do you accept?

Proxya accepts major cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, USDT, and more via Cryptomus) and credit/debit cards via Stripe.

Is there a refund policy?

Unused bandwidth can be refunded within 24 hours of purchase if no traffic has been used. Contact support with your order ID.

Countries & Locations

How many countries do you cover?

Proxya covers 195+ countries across Europe, Asia, Americas, Africa, and Oceania. See our Locations page for the full list with IP counts per country.

Can I target a specific city?

Yes. City-level targeting is available on residential and ISP proxies in most major markets including US, UK, Germany, France, and others.

How do I select a country when connecting?

Include the country code in the proxy connection string or select it in your dashboard. Example endpoint format: country-de.gate.proxya.co:8080

Which countries have the most IPs?

The largest residential pools are in the United States (8.2M+), China (4.1M+), India (2.8M+), Brazil (1.9M+), Germany (2.3M+), and Netherlands (1.5M+).
