The four values#

Formats#

The format switch on the order page rewrites every line at once. Pick whichever your tool expects.

HOST:PORT:USER:PASS
USER:PASS@HOST:PORT

The residential generator offers four orders of the same parts: domain:port:username:password, domain:port@username:password, username:password:domain:port and username:password@domain:port. Mobile orders can also print the gateway as an IP instead of a hostname, for tools that do not accept domain names.

As a URL#

Code and command-line tools take the same values as a URL. The scheme says which protocol to speak to the proxy.

• http:// is right for both HTTP and HTTPS websites. The proxy opens an encrypted tunnel for HTTPS, so there is no need for an https:// proxy scheme.
• socks5h:// sends the domain name to the proxy and lets it resolve DNS. socks5:// resolves the name on your machine first. See DNS through SOCKS5.
• If a username or password ever contains @, : or /, encode them in the URL as %40, %3A and %2F.

Exporting an order#

Export on the order page downloads every proxy in the chosen format and protocol.

In one ISP or datacenter order every proxy has its own IP and port, while the username and password are usually the same for the whole order.
