UDP over SOCKS5

Residential lines can carry UDP as well as TCP: QUIC and HTTP/3, DNS, voice and video calls, games. It is switched on per line in the generator.

Updated 16 October 2026

Turning it on#

  1. Open the generator

    Buy proxy, Residential, Generate proxies.

  2. Switch on UDP

The switch sits next to the proxy type. It sets the type to SOCKS5 and the port to 1080.

  3. Generate and use the new lines

Without the flag UDP depends on the device you land on, so lines generated with the switch off may not carry it.

What changes in the line#

UDP is enabled by a flag in the login. It goes right after your username and before every other part:

Text
# without UDP
USER-country-de-session-a1b2c3d4-ttl-30

# with UDP: the flag goes right after the username, before everything else
USER-pool-udp-country-de-session-a1b2c3d4-ttl-30

Rules#

  • SOCKS5 ports only: 1080, 6000–6010 or 9101–9108. The generator refuses UDP on port 5555 and on HTTP ports, where the flag would do nothing.
  • Your client must support SOCKS5 UDP ASSOCIATE. curl and ordinary HTTP libraries never send UDP through a proxy. Tunnel clients and many antidetect browsers do.
  • Rotating and sticky sessions both work with UDP.

Checking that UDP works#

In a browser or a tunnel client that uses the line, open https://cloudflare-quic.com. The page reports whether it was loaded over HTTP/3, which runs on UDP. If it says HTTP/2, UDP did not pass: check the flag, the port and the client's UDP setting.
