Rotating and sticky sessions

A rotating session leaves from a new address on every request. A sticky session holds one address for the rotation time you choose. Which one you need depends on whether the target follows you across requests.

Rotating#

The gateway picks a new device for every new connection. Nothing needs to be configured: there is no timer, and every rotating line in a batch is the same line.

Shell
# Rotating: every request leaves from a different address
for i in 1 2 3; do
  curl -s -x http://USER-country-us:PASS@premium.proxya.co:8888 https://api.ipify.org
  echo
done

Sticky#

Every sticky line carries its own session. The gateway keeps the session on one device for the rotation time, from 1 to 1000 minutes, as long as that device stays online.

Shell
# Sticky: the same session keeps the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do
  curl -s -x http://USER-country-us-session-a1b2c3d4-ttl-10:PASS@premium.proxya.co:8888 https://api.ipify.org
  echo
done

Sessions in parallel#

Different session values are different devices at the same time. Generate 20 sticky lines for the same city and you hold 20 addresses at once, as many as the pool has free there at that moment.

Sessions in code#

A scraper can mint its own session per task instead of keeping a file of lines. The pattern is the one the generator writes:

Python
import random
import string

import requests

def sticky_proxy(country: str, minutes: int = 30) -> str:
    session = "".join(random.choices(string.ascii_lowercase + string.digits, k=8))
    user = f"USER-country-{country}-session-{session}-ttl-{minutes}"
    return f"http://{user}:PASS@premium.proxya.co:8888"

proxy = sticky_proxy("de")
s = requests.Session()
s.proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy}

# every request in this session leaves from the same German address
print(s.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=30).text)
print(s.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=30).text)
